Francisco joined CRU Consulting in 2019 and accumulates 13+ years of experience in the mining and metals sectors.

Since 2010, and throughout his career, his focus has been the copper mining sector. He started his career at BHP, where he was responsible for geometallurgy and project development at the Escondida mine site, and was involved in mineral processing R&D across different copper assets.

He also co-founded and led an advisory firm focusing on acquisition strategies, deal structuring and project financing across a wide spectrum of exploration and mining companies as well as financial institutions.

Since joining CRU, he has worked on a variety of commodity types, including: base metals, precious metals and battery metals; and is involved in new business development with mining and financial institutions across the Americas.

  • Chemical Engineer degree, University of Concepción, Chile
  • M.Sc. Industry, Trade and Development, University of Manchester, UK

Additional Skills:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English, and proficient in French
