Brian has spent most of his professional career in the metals industry and brings over 30 years of industry experience to his position at CRU.

At CRU, Brian has focused on the metals value chain, from raw materials such as iron ore and nickel, to product marketing studies for steel and copper, as well as decarbonisation research for steel producers. His clients consist of a wide range of organisations, from global mining firms to junior miners and steel producers and trade organisations.

Brian previously worked at United States Steel (USS), where in his 30-year career he was involved in numerous functions, including Research and Development, IT, Business Planning, Supply Chain, Marketing, Economics and Revenue Management.

Brian was also a representative to the American Iron and Steel Association (AISI), where he was chair of the Commercial Marketing Committee; and the Worldsteel Association, where he was on the Economic and Economic Forecasting committees. Before this, he worked in R&D at the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa).

This wide variety of roles provided him with first-hand experience in technical, commercial and analytical functions in a wide range of settings.
